Sunflowers
Pencil drawing on Arches Watercolor paper 300 grs. hot pressed. (SATINÉ)
Paper size: 76 × 56cm including white border
Year: 2026
Original art
Comes with a certificate of authenticity
Comes without frame
The figure sits in a traditional portrait pose, while sunflowers grow from beneath the shirt and spread across the entire head, completely concealing the face. I wanted to create a dreamlike and melancholic atmosphere with something slightly unsettling beneath its beauty.By completely obscuring the face, the identity of the subject disappears, leaving the viewer to create their own interpretation of the figure.
As part of an ongoing series, the work explores the relationship between the human figure and nature. The flowers in my work also symbolise human life. Like people, flowers grow, bloom, flourish, and eventually fade and die.
