Beáta is a Hungarian artist from Serbia, currently
based in the Netherlands whose practice centres on
pencil drawings. Working through surrealist selfportraiture, she draws from her own image and
incorporates surrounding natural elements.
Her fascination with drawing began in early
childhood. Pencil, chosen for its immediacy and
precision, has become the defining medium of her
practice.
Her works evoke a melancholic, dreamlike
atmosphere. By obscuring the eyes, the figures gain a
sense of anonymity, becoming less specific and more
universal—inviting viewers to project their own
emotions and narratives.
